Last Saturday Skye and I rode the Amtrak Downeaster to Boston. We had tickets to the Sea Dogs game at Fenway Park, and planned to visit both the New England Aquarium and the Boston Museum of Science. We have annual passes to both. #winning
We had a few extra minutes in our travel to Fenway, so Skye asked if we could quickly run over to the New England Aquarium so she could pet some of the stingrays and sharks. Obviously, I obliged. Then we walked to Government Center where we boarded the Green Line to Fenway.
The game was fun. The weather was partly cloudy and mid-70ºs. We had great seats just behind the visitor’s dugout and behind a walkway. Skye drank a lemonade from one of the vendors, and I enjoyed a couple of ice cold Green Monster beeahs. After the seventh inning we headed back across town to the New England Aquarium. We walked around there for a bit after once again petting the stingrays. After all the construction they did this past winter, few things seem changed.
From the Aquarium we took the Blue Line to Government Center where we switched to the Green Line, which we took all the way to Science Park. At the Boston Museum of Science we watched “Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure” in 3D, which was excellent. Skye left her camera in the Pixar exhibit, but luckily nobody ran off with it and I was able to locate it after a brief search.
We ate dinner at The Harp, a restaurant and pub just outside of TD Garden/North Station. We had a tall table next to the sidewalk. There weren’t many people there, which allowed us a chance to enjoy each other and have a nice conversation.
We took the 20:00 train back to Maine. Spending the day with Skye in the city was one of the best times of my life. She’s an amazing human being, with whom I am very proud.
